Individual Counselling

We provide individual mental health and psychological counseling to adolescents (12-18 years) and adults (18+ years) to learn positive coping strategies to overcome mental health issues such as depression and anxiety.
After an initial consultation where we discuss your presenting concerns, we will work together to develop an individualized treatment plan that will specifically address your needs and goals.

Therapeutic Interventions

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

    CBT focuses on helping Clients identify, challenge, and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors in order to address specific problems and improve overall coping.

  • Person-Centered Therapy

    Person-centered therapy encourages the Client to take the lead in working through issues and in developing solutions. The therapist acts as a compassionate facilitator who encourages, supports, and guides the Client.

  • Mindfulness-Based Approaches

    In mindfulness-based approaches the therapist helps Clients develop increased awareness of the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that hinder their progress towards their life goals. By having a clearer awareness of themselves in the present moment, Clients can make better choices and respond wisely in difficult situations.

  • Rehabilitation Psychology

    Rehabilitation psychology is the psychological treatment of cognitive, emotional and functional difficulties to help people with a disability due to illness or injury develop greater independence and overcome barriers to participating in life activities.

  • Smart Recovery

    Self Management and Recovery Training uses CBT and motivational methods to help people struggling with substance abuse/addictive behaviors make healthier choices and improve their quality of life.

    DBT is an evidence-based model of therapy that utilizes a combination of mindfulness and cognitive-behavioural based approaches in order to help clients learn to use new skills and strategies to help improve interpersonal relationships, tolerate distress, and regulate overwhelming emotions.

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)

    MI is an evidence-based treatment approach that aims to facilitate change within clients by resolving and exploring areas of ambivalence that impact motivation.
